Why Study Abroad in Czech Republic?

Anglo-American University (AAU) is the first private, English-language university in the Czech Republic. The modern campus is situated in the newly restored Thurn-Taxis Palace near Prague Castle serving as a beautiful backdrop for your time abroad. AAU blends Central European tradition with American and British academic values, offering an international learning environment in one of Europe’s most picturesque cities.


Courses

Anglo-American University is like a Czech version of HLºÚÁÏÃŲ»´òìÈ â€“ liberal arts style courses taught in English, engaged faculty and small classes where you will benefit from lively discussion and individualized academic support. Nervous about language? No problem – you have to take a course focused on Czechia but no language course is required.


Housing and Meals

  • Students live in apartments provided by WorldStrides, located near the AAU campus. Apartments are removed from tourist areas to promote a more local experience.
  • Apartments are fully furnished, and bedrooms are typically double occupancy with a shared living area, kitchen and bathroom.
  • There is no meal plan. Students can cook for themselves in their apartments. .

Excursions and Activities

  • WorldStrides provides two-day trips in Czechia and 2 overnight trips (Vienna and Berlin). Each excursion includes a cultural activity and a guided tour.
  • Activities include the Prague Zoo, Prague Castle, Old Town tour, Jewish quarter tour, visit to the oldest brewery in Prague, Museum of Communism, Town Hall, and tour of the catacombs, social activities, etc.
  • A variety of student-led clubs are available for visiting students. Some examples are hiking club, café social club, skiing club, Latino club, and many more.
